John 5:7

“The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.””

Our approach to our Heavenly Father takes a different turn when we come to a place of true understanding and knowledge of Him. When we truly know God, how we do things becomes different and how we trust and have faith in Him also changes. Let us take this man for instance. When Jesus asked him if he wants to be healed the first thing he said: “Sir I have no MAN to put me into the pool when the water is stirred”. First and foremost he did not answer the question, but not only did he not answer the question, but he talks about his dependency on a man when the savior stands before him with everything he could possibly need. His focus was so screwed that he did not realize who stood before him.

If he knew who stood before him his response would have been different. If he knew that Christ was the man he was encountering his response would have been an immediate yes without question and without a doubt. This is true in our own lives and in our walk with God. When we know who God is and who we are in Him or attitude towards certain things change.  When we know that as His children He has not given us the spirit of fear but that of love power and a sound mind, we will not give fear that time of day because we understand our stand in Him.

On the other hand, when we do not truly know Him and have a true understanding of Him anything can blow us any direction. Let us seek God and dive deeper into Him because just as this man above, our approach will be different if we truly know Him. We will live in our authority if we truly know.

Evaluate where you stand, evaluate how you interact with God and ask yourself, do I really know God? Be honest with yourself and whatever your response is, build from there.
