Psalm 27:4

“One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.”

It is such an honor and a privilege to be able to sit at the feet of the Lord and to dwell in His hiding place. In the house of the Lord where His presence is evident and where everything is in order, you feel His joy. When you dwell at the feet of God and in His house or when you make it a habit of seeking Him deeply and consistently you begin to see a change in your life.

The truth is not many people have the privilege of dwelling in the house of the Lord but those of us that do often come up with so many different excuses not to do so. Many times you hear people say they don’t like going to church because they don’t necessarily like the people within the church or that they do not like the flow of the church. We should never allow another human being keep us away from enjoying the Lord and dwelling in His sanctuary. In some cases where people get offended, they leave the church while the one who caused the offense remains. Your relationship with God trumps everything and everyone else so do not make it a habit of being a homebody because someone offended you, you cannot allow any circumstance drive you away from the Lord.

One thing that the Psalmist sought was to dwell in the house of the Lord and to gaze at His beauty all while seeking Him earnestly. Let us strive to seek the Lord and dwell in His temple. Let us also do all we can to remain at His Feet and to consistently seek Him without being negatively influenced by anyone.
