2 Corinthians 7:10

“Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.”

Feeling bad for your wrong isn’t good enough especially when feeling bad just lasts for a moment and allows you to go back into your sin. Feeling bad does not bring salvation because many people can feel bad for one thing in one moment yet move past it in the very next moment. As Christians one thing that will bring us before God in total surrender is godly sorrow. Godly sorrow is receiving understanding of your wrong and being enabled by the Holy Spirt to desire to repent and return to that thing no more.

Godly sorrow brings about true repentance. Not the repentance that last only for a moment rather the repentance the remains with you. The repentance where by you have no desire to return to those wrongs. The repentance where you find yourself fleeing from sin rather than running towards it. It is repentance that makes you aware of the truth of God’s word and by so doing keeps you away from anything that is contrary to it. It is sorrow that leads to salvation. Felling bad or guilty can never lead to salvation it is only godly sorrow that can do that.

Do not fall into the cycle of feeling bad and returning to your sins. That is worldly sorrow and it only lasts a second, drawing you back into sin the very next moment. Worldly sorrow is that which will always lead to death. Being sad is not enough godly sorrow is the only way to true repentance and to salvation.
