2 Corinthians 6:14

“Do not be unequally bound together with unbelievers [do not make mismatched alliances with them, inconsistent with your faith]. For what partnership can righteousness have with lawlessness? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?”

‭‭

Being unequally yoked in other terms is a believer being with an unbeliever. A believer and an unbeliever cannot be bonded together, and remain bonded in peace unless one gives in to the beliefs of the other. Someone who is unequally yoked does not  share the same religion or religious beliefs as a Christian. An unbeliever does not have the same understanding as a believer. Additionally two people with two different beliefs will always find it hard to co-exist because they are not of one mind. In this same way light cannot be one with darkness wherever you find light and darkness one must prevail and that which prevails is always light. We as Christians represent the light and as such we must always shine.

As a believer you are not ordinary. You are light, a light that cannot be hidden. A light that cannot compromise. One which cannot give way to darkness. Where there is light, it should always prevail. Do not be unevenly bonded. In the same way righteousness and wickedness cannot be one. Take heed to your beliefs as a believer and live by that. You are not like the world and you cannot be like the world. There must be a difference. Shine forth like the light you are and break every bond with anything that isn’t light.
