1 Corinthians 10:14

“Flee Dear Friends So, my dear friends, flee from the worship of idols.

“It’s easy to think that this verse doesn’t apply to us anymore, since we don’t pray to false gods. But getting to the heart of the matter, an idol is anything we put our trust in. Isn’t it true that we rely less upon God when we have money in our pocket and food in our pantry? There is never a time that we should abandon God. He is and will always be God when we have plenty and when we don’t have at all. Let’s not acknowledge Him only when we’re in the valley but let’s do so even on the mountain top. God is good and He deserves our praise and more everyday of our lives!

Do not give filthy and unworthy gods your time. Do not waste your life and energy worshipping these idols because they can do nothing for you. They have no power. You have more power than those things you subject yourself to. Flee from all idols and allow yourself to trust and rely on the Lord your God.
