Rejected But Chosen

November 29

1 Kings 1:1-53

9-10“Adonijah then sacrificed sheep, cattle and fattened calves at the Stone of Zoheleth near En Rogel. He invited all his brothers, the king’s sons, and all the royal officials of Judah, but he did not invite Nathan the prophet or Benaiah or the special guard or his brother Solomon.”

It’s not everyday that we have to be where everyone else is. Sometimes it’s ok for others to reject you because in some instances it is during those times that God will cause others to locate you. inevitably people will reject you at some point. They will choose everyone but you. They will invite everyone and intentionally making sure that you are out of the circle. Some Will go above and beyond to make sure that you see them choosing everyone while leaving you behind. Take this passage for example Solomon was left behind. His brother deliberate left him out and made sure not to send him an invite. He made sure that he was not present at that moment. In that very moment his brother Adonijah thought he had won. He thought that he had gained it all but little did he know that God was working on behalf of the one whom he had thrown away.

If Solomon did not remain at home, If he forced himself to the space where his brother and his friends were, he would have missed out on his blessings. If he forced his way into the gathering where they deliberately denounced him, he would have missed his fathers Kingship.  His father could have passed away without pronouncing his blessings upon him. But because he did not follow the crowd God located him and blessed him beyond himself.

We should count it a blessing when people exclude us out of their circles because it is at times Gods way of separating us unto  Himself so that he can use us. So when people fail to choose you don’t get weary because God is with you. You don’t always have to be found where they are found.
