Cherish Your Freedom

January 2

Galatians 5:13“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”‭‭Do not use the freedom that God has given you through His love and salvation as a means to indulge in and please the flesh. You have been called to freedom, and freedom has been made your portion by virtue of the sacrifice made on the cross by Christ. Although you have been given freedom and liberty it does not permit you to revel in the flesh and or partake in the works of the flesh. Do not use your freedom as a means to please the flesh. Neither should you use your freedom as a means of digging your own grave.
As the Lord has called you to be free, the enemy also calls you to be bound. Do not think even for a moment that indulging in the flesh will be of any benefit to you, it will only rob you of your freedom. Many are those who wish they had access to the freedom that you have. Christ has given you liberty in Himself, therefore do not throw your freedom away simply to be bound together with the bondage of the flesh. The enemy knows the power you possess in the freedom that you have and for this reason he’ll  do anything to throw you off course. Be reminded that throwing your freedom away only to be in bondage to the flesh is like throwing your full loaf of bread away only to lick the crumbs off the floor with the dogs. Be wise and do all you can to hold firmly onto your freedom and as you hold unto it, do not dare take advantage of that freedom.
