Take Some Rest

July 31

Psalm 127:2

It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.

Hard work is always good. You can get so far in life if you work hard and apply yourself in all that you do. As high as it is to be hard working, at some point, we all need to rest. Some people think that if one takes time to rest, they are no longer serious in life. However, that is far from the truth. No matter how hardworking you are, each human needs rest, and our Father in heavens encourages it.

Daily we are taught how to hustle, and our society also pushes us to be productive and perfect in all areas of our lives. It is engraved in us that hard work brings success, and although that is true, there are other components to success. For this reason, do not forsake rest, because without rest you will crash before you reach your destination. Take time to rest. Allow God to take care of you. If you find yourself exhausted, do not keep pushing instead take time out to breath. Relax and rely on God. Allow Him to care for you as He pleases. Do not take everything upon yourself. There is rest in God, dwell at His feet, and revel in His rest.

He has your back, and He is ready to receive you into His arms.
