Matthew 5:16 NIV “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Can people clearly separate you from the world? Do you look different or do you look just like everyone else around you? As a believer there ought to be a great deal of distinction between you and everyone else. People around you should know that you are not like them. They should know that there are traits that you possess that they do not have.

You are the light of the world, therefore you have the duty of illuminating every dark place around you. You are a city upon a hill which means you cannot be hidden, therefore, you must do your good deeds to the glory of the Most High. We have been given the privilege to be a light, so let’s embrace that privilege. Let us shine brighter than the sun itself. Let your light so shine, that you become the light in the midst of darkness.

Be the light that others look up to. Be the one to make a difference in the community, and eventually in the world. You have been given the grace and power to shine and to make a difference in this world. So allow God to work through you. Let people see you and glorify the name of the Lord.
