1 Kings 19:7-8 AMP
“Then the angel of the LORD came again a second time and touched him and said, “Get up, and eat, for the journey is too long for you [without adequate sustenance].” So he got up and ate and drank, and with the strength of that food he traveled forty days and nights to Horeb (Sinai), the mountain of God.”
We all need rest and our Father in heaven is faithful enough to give us rest. Though God gives us rest it is up to us to dwell in that place of rest and soak it all in. Being that we are humans there comes a time where we need to slow down and relax. This journey is not a competition. Everyone’s races come with its own bumps and hurdles, but in all, we must always overcome. We must make sure that we are taking time out to rest and replenish our hearts, minds, bodies, spirit, and souls as they are needed.
We cannot neglect ourselves whether physically or spiritually. We must make time for ourselves, to really cater to our needs. Be sure to always have adequate substance even as you go through this journey. God knows everything. Whenever He puts you in a season of rest stop being a busybody and sit down. He knows what is ahead of you so take heed and rest when you are prompted to do so. Do not go ahead of yourself and do not overdo whatever you find yourself doing. Follow the promptings and the leading God and do as He says.
