One With The Spirit

August 18

1 Corinthians 6:15-17

“Don’t you realize that your bodies are actually parts of Christ? Should a man take his body, which is part of Christ, and join it to a prostitute? Never! And don’t you realize that if a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? For the Scriptures say, “The two are united into one.” But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him.”

Do you realize that when you put red food coloring in a batch of cookie dough the entire dough becomes red. Every single inch of the dough becomes one with the food coloring. Sin is that element that contaminates us. It is that element that defiles us. How can our body being a part of Christ also be a part of sin. In the same way a man cannot be with 2 different woman and truly be one with both of them so we cannot be one with Christ and one with sin. Our bodies are not our own. How can we take a part of Christ and offer it to sin? That is exactly what we do when we give ourselves over to sin.

We belong to God. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Knowing this how dare we take what belongs to God and give it gladly to dogs. How dare we prostitute the temple of the Living God. How can we prostitute with sin. Stop prostituting what isn’t yours. Stop selling the very thing that belong to God, to pigs.

You cannot be one with God and one with the devil. You cannot serve two masters. So repent from your ways and turn to God and give to Him what is His. Next time you think of prostituting your temple in what ever way, take a second and remember who you belong to because you don’t belong to this world or even to yourself.
Separate yourself from sin. Separate yourself from darkness. You must know that the best decision you can ever make in your live is to belong to God to serve Him. Be one with the Spirit and follow the orders and commands of the Holy Spirit.
