Hebrews 4:15
This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.
For many people when the year begin to approach sadness and depression sets in. For others the question of what have I accomplished, and what have I made of myself begin to knock at the doors of the heart and the mind. At this time frustration begins to set in for many people. Doubt and self pity becomes a silent plague that eats at the heart. It isn’t surprising that many people fall into a dark place when the holiday season approach and when the year comes to its end.
If you find yourself in that place where you’re wondering what will become of you, or beating yourself up for being a failure who couldn’t accomplish one thing in this entire year, take a step back. If you find yourself feeling you are alone or that you cannot go to God in this season of pure self hatred, rewind it back and go to your father. Whatever feeling you may be feeling at this moment is understood by Him. What ever funk you may find yourself in because of what you did or didn’t do is understood by Him. Christ was once walking this earth as a full fleshed human and because of that He is able to feel and to understand you completely. Trust that Christ understands. No matter what the holiday season may bring, whether the memories of a loved one passing or the memories of failing at something. No matter what it is, it is not too small or too big for God. He is the one Being that is always there for you even when you do not see it. Go to Him. Do not let horrible memories or self pity and destruction rob you of the joy that this season has to offer. Have faith, trust Him, and keep moving.
