Hosea 7:14 NLT “They do not cry out to me with sincere hearts. Instead, they sit on their couches and wail. They cut themselves, begging foreign gods for grain and new wine, and they turn away from me.”

It’s so saddening to realize how we react to situations. Often times when we’re going through something we choose the path that allows us to grieve and wail about it. We always make the decision to run to those who will throw us a pity party rather than those who will redirect us back to God. We start seeking answers from the world in hopes that the world can save us. The world can never save us, neither can a pity party in closets. The only one capable of saving us is God. It is He we ought to approach with sincere and humble hearts. It is He we must pour our hearts to. Do not resort to wailing when trouble comes, do not turn to the world when disaster strikes, rather with genuine hearts turn to the Lord and He will hear you.

Do not allow yourself the opportunity of drowning in sadness. Let your cry be sincere to the Lord, because if you are not sincere to Him who will you be sincere to? Put your heart and your trust in Him, for no foreign god can do for you what your Heavenly Father is capable of doing. Check your heart towards God and examine where you stand and allow Him to give you the grace you need to change that which requires a change in your life.
