Subconsciously we all despise small beginnings to an extent. We often want to start something today and boom tomorrow it has succeeded. Zachariah 4:10 “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin……” I do not know why but as humans we often find it difficult to see the beauty that is in beginnings. One major trait we all lack is patience when it comes to growth. The patience to WAIT while you work. Many times we have an idea, to build or make something, but because of our impatience or our ignorance of the beauty in small beginnings, our ideas remain ideas. It’s sad because in our minds we want to start something today and we expect it to take off tomorrow without and work. Oftentimes when that doesn’t happen we just give up and for this reason, many of us are stuck at the beginning.
There is beauty in beginnings and no one should despise small beginnings. It’s beautiful to see the growth in your work that you started 5 years ago. If you are waiting for everything to be perfect before you leap, you will be stagnant for a long time. God Himself enjoys beginnings, just as He enjoys progress. Everything has a beginning, and that’s one thing we have to understand. Some beginnings will be smooth, and others will be a little shaky. What matters most is that no matter the direction your beginning takes you, you will make up your mind to stand firm and remain. Someone’s vision may take a year before it really kicks off, and another individual’ may take 3 years before it takes off, But both will surely take off as long as they do not give up.
We cannot compare what we are doing to what others are doing because everyone’s task is different. So commit whatever you have thought about doing or that one you have begun doing into His hands and pursue it in excellence and you will have a great end.
Zachariah 4:10
10 “Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the Lord that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone[a]in the hand of Zerubbabel?”
