Have you been feeling empty lately? Do you find yourself wanting, or gasping for air? Do you feel lost and confused? If any of these things describe the state that you are in, then you have left your first love. If you can identify with any of these things then you have abandoned what is true and chosen to take up that which is not. Revelation 2:4-5 “Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first……” Sometimes we focus so much on the world around us and in doing so we find that we are so removed from God.

There’s absolutely nothing that should ever take God’s place in our lives. He is and should always be the first person in each of our lives. It is when we place other people and other things above Him that we begin to feel empty and lost. But thank God for grace. Thank Him for the grace to repent and to get our lives back in order. If you find yourself wanting or suffocating it’s most likely because you have made some sort of detour that has taken you away from the one who is Lord over your life. Do not worry if you find yourself in this place because God is giving you a chance at repentance today. He is giving you the opportunity to run back into His arm this very moment. Nothing will go well in your life if you forsake God. But if you put Him in His rightful position which is first, you will begin to see things working out in your favor.

Life will always have its baggage. It’s always going to have its ups and downs. All in all, there’s no reason why anyone should leave God or put anyone in His place. No one can ever replace God so do not even try because if you do you will definitely regret it. Return back to your first love if you have left Him. His arms are wide open waiting for you but do not delay because you don’t have all the time in this world.

Revelations 2:4-5

Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first.Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.
