One of the greatest ways we can represent Christ is by showing other people His heart and His love. We ought to love others just as Christ loves us. There needs to be a difference in character between us and the world. There needs to be a difference between how we love and how the world loves. We have Christ and for that reason alone we need to have a heart full of compassion. Our love and our heart alone should be able to draw people to God. Our compassion alone should be able to pick people up from the pits of life.
Our love cannot and should not be based on the deeds of people because if that were the case we would always have an excuse not to love. Imagine if God’s love for us was based our works. It would be tragic because we would all be bankrupt. He loves us because of Himself, therefore we ought to love everyone because of Him. Our heart and it’s content should be enough for the world to see and know instantly that we are disciples of the Savior. Let us love freely with the heart of Christ because that is our great command.
Do not pick and choose who you will and will not love because we are called to love one another. this includes those irritating co-workers and annoying family members. We must represent Christ every moment of our lives not only when it is convenient for us. Love just as He loves you.
John 13:34-35
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this, all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
