Deuteronomy 1:6
“The LORD our God spoke to us in Horeb, saying: ‘You have dwelt long enough at this mountain.”
Have you realized that there are certain phases in your life in which you spend more time than usual? For instance, let us say there is a lesson of trust that needs to be learned. Now say that this particular lesson was supposed to take you one summer to learn. However, because of your inability to stay put and learn that lesson, it ends up taking you about two years to learn to trust. Most often in our lives, we stay planted in one place longer than we ought to. We dwell too long in seasons we are supposed to simply pass through. If we do not learn to be planted and hidden in God, we will overstay our welcome in all of our seasons. We will make our homes in caves meant to be rest stops.
Listen to God in your season obey his every command in your season do not make a habit of making your rest stops a home. God has a purpose for you. Some seasons are meant to last moment others might be weeks yet still others might be months or years. Therefore dwell in the presence of God listen to his words follow his commands and do not spend more time than necessary in the places He has laid out for you. Once again do not make a rest stop a home, a home in which you comfortably dwell in not knowing that you are wasting your life away. Go to God and know your season and ask for Grace to only dwell the length of time He has a portioned for you. Seek Him and ask Him because only He can show you help you and guide you.
