1 Kings 9:4-5

“As for you, if you walk before me faithfully with integrity of heart and uprightness, as David your father did, and do all I command and observe my decrees and laws, I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father when I said, ‘You shall never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’”

To be a man or woman of integrity is to be whole and undivided. It means being firm and stable in your ways, without corruption, and without wavering. The God that we serve is a Holy God. He is truth and He is ever true and immovable in His ways. As His people, we are meant to imitate Him in every way possible. This means as He is faithful so we too ought to be faithful. In that same way, we ought to be upright.

On the surface it may seem that being upright, walking in integrity, being faithful, etc. are all things we do casually. But in actuality, these things require the grace and help of God. We cannot be faithful or upright or anything else to Him for that matter without Him. Yes, we can be upright but we need Him in order to succeed in uprightness. This is the same for everything else that we have been called to.

We must realize that when God calls us to anything He does so in Himself.

When God called Solomon to be all these things, He called Him to be all these things in Him and with Him, because outside of Him Solomon could have done everything possible but would have never succeeded.  With this in mind when you respond to the call of God, know that you are going to thrive only through Him. Whatever He asks of you He doesn’t ask for you to use your strength and power.

Therefore if you’ve been called to anything be reminded that you cannot do His will without Him. He is the very core value of every equation. You cannot get to Him without Him so trust in Him and allow Him to lead you in your quest for Him.
