Waiting Is Good

January 10

Acts 1:4-5

“On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

Waiting on the Lord is one of our greatest privileges but yet one of the hardest things for us to do. We will all receive the the command to wait more than once in our walk with the Lord, however what we do with that command is up to us. We see in scripture that indeed the disciples waited which of scouter was the very best decision they could have made.

However they could have decided not to wait. The difference is had they not waited they would not have gotten anywhere neither would they have reaped the promises of God. They would have gone in their own strength and the would have failed miserably beyond all odds. They would have drowned in their own failures. There are some things we can do on our own if we want to but we can never yield any positive results unless we do it in the Lord and wait upon Him.

As you have entered a new year many are the things that will spring forth. There are a lot of decisions you will make blindly of your not careful. Many hurdles that you will jump too soon if you take take heed. Purpose in your head to wait in the Lord in everything you do. Do not miss out on His promises by simply going ahead of Him. Wait upon Him. Listen to Him. Take in all that He has to say and allow yourself the opportunity to trust Him fearlessly. Feel free to put all your eggs in His basket because His basket will always be the greatest choice. Keep your eyes on Him. Trust and obey, wait and you will see Him like never before.
