1 Peter 2:11
Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls.

We are temporary residents of this world. Although we are living in this world we are not of this world. Although we have a presence here, this is not where we will be forever. We are not bound to be in this world until the end of time. This place is more of a passage way that we are walking through until we reach our destination. The reason most of us loose focus and sight of eternity is because we are more in love with this temporary habitat that we have.

The truth is the things we do in this world surely counts. In the end it will all mean something, and whether good or bad we will be judged for it in one way or the other. No one said living this life will be easy, not even our Lord.  However He did say that He will direct our path and that in Him all things will be possible for us. We must daily reminds ourselves of our stance in this world. We must remind ourselves that this world is not in any way our home. In doing so we must also keep away from the deadly worldly desires that seeks to destroy us. We must keep away from the very thing that seeks to entangle us and destroy our souls. Think of this as a layover before you get to your destination. However make your time in your layover destination a memorable and worthwhile one. One pleasing to the Lord. Live as the citizen of heaven that you are, while being useful and influential in the space you occupy nonetheless.
