Luke 12:8-9

“I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God. But whoever disowns me before others will be disowned before the angels of God.”

Most of us live our lives as though Christ is not alive. We do what we want, how we want it, and wherever we feel we want it.  We do not acknowledge God in the way He ought to be acknowledged. Some of us make it known to the world that we belong to the King. That our lives and our very existence are due to Him. Some of us, however, claim Him only when it is convenient! When other believers around us are standing firm and holding on to their belief. The question here is what kind of Christian are you? Are you the kind who loves God in the secret place but not publicly, or the one who loves Him no matter where you are?

It is important that we avoid being a hypocrite when it comes to your walk with God. People should always see you and automatically identify you with Christ. There shouldn’t ever be any confusion as to who you really serve because if there is then there is a problem. When we live the juggling life of being for Him one day and the next day against Him, we deter those watching us from afar, who are trying to come into the faith.

Every action and decision we make will have its own reaction. God should not have to compete with the world for our attention. He should already have all of us. Do not undermine God. Do not disown Him in front of the world because His word said if we do He will disown us before His angels. So let’s make sure that we always represent Christ in the best possible way as well as stand up for Him no matter where we find ourselves. Remember this world is passing away it WILL NOT be here forever. Therefore do not make a decision that seems pleasureful at the moment, but detrimental in the sight of eternity.
