Proverbs 1:24-31

“But since you refuse to listen when I call and no one pays attention when I stretch out my hand, since you disregard all my advice and do not accept my rebuke, I in turn will laugh when disaster strikes you; I will mock when calamity overtakes you— when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you. “Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me, since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the Lord. Since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.”

There are times when we hear the call of the Lord so strongly. We hear His rebuke, calling us out and admonishing us. Some of us typically tend to be drawn to Him, and in doing so we find ourselves repenting and abandoning our old ways. Yet still some of us hear the word, we hear the open rebuke but we refuse to budge. We must understand that God is our 911 button. He’s our father, our Lord, and our God. We cannot expect to ignore Him time after time, disregarding Him however we please. We cannot dishonor Him however we want and expect to run into His arms in the days of trouble. Do not be mistaken God cannot be mocked. Do not live your life thinking that you can sleep with sin whenever you desire and returned to the savior when it’s convenient. You have to make a decision it’s either Him or the world.

Yes, He is gracious and merciful. Grace is abundant, however, it is a gift, and it cannot be thrown into the face of the one who gives it to us. As much as He is love He is also just. Do not take for granted His grace and do not undermine His just nature. Seek him now that He can be found, live for him and dwell in His presence. A time will come where you would desire to seek after Him but desire will be waste because He will not be found. Be wise in your ways, and don’t spend the opportune time you have making foolish decisions. Wise up and choose Him while the decision is still yours to make.
