While There’s Time

October 29

Isaiah 55:6-7

“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.”

Today is a day of evaluation. A day to ask yourself if you are seeking the Lord and His righteousness. The sad truth of the matter is that many of us do not search for God when we have the opportunity. We do not even stretch out our hands to reach Him. Some of us are rather stuck in our wicked ways. We know the place we’re in and we know the strong need for us to escape from that place but we do nothing about it. We just go with the flow of things. We just accept whatever we are presented with.

We must realize that God is the only one capable of having mercy on us. He’s the only one capable of forgiving us and setting us on the right path. If you have drifted away, turn to the Lord. No matter how far you may have gone, or even how messed up you may think you are the Lord God got you. He is able to change you completely. He is able to make you into a new man, but you must want that for yourself. You must call upon Him and He will surely answer you. Turn to Him while there is still time, that way you don’t find yourself wanting.
