If He Wills

May 4

James 4:13-15 NIV

“Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”

Very often our Today’s are taken for granted because we depend on what we will do tomorrow instead. We put the burden of a project, task and every change on tomorrow. We do this and often times we end up putting ourselves in a position where we become stagnant because we push everything to tomorrow.(though tomorrow seems to never come.) It’s is important that we stop deceiving ourselves about living for Christ tomorrow and start living for Him today. We can live for Him today simply by showing His love to others, by keeping our eyes and our minds on Him or spreading His truth in all the nations.

We must live for God in the present and pray for what we can do tomorrow if tomorrow is within His will. It is through His will that any of us will see tomorrow. But even with that in the back of our minds let us live for Him today because we do not know when His Will will call for us to come home. Therefore do the best you can to be a better steward of Christ today. Do not allow procrastination a chance in your life. Be diligent and consistent in all that you do, keeping in mind that not only is your life not your own but you do not hold your future either. Everything we have or will ever have is from God, it is because of His grace in accordance with His will that we are who we are. Stop living as though the world belongs to you because it does not. Live right and live for God, and when you speak, speak referencing HIM not yourself.
