Proverbs 12:26

The godly give good advice to their friends; the wicked lead them astray.

There is no doubt that we are all a friend to someone. However, the question we ought to ask is, “what kind of friend am I?” Am I a friend who can change the course of another friends life from a very rocky path to a good one, or am I the friend who changes the life of another from the right way to a bad one? No matter who you are, how quiet or introverted you are, the reality is you are a friend, but your action determines the quality of your friendship.

As Christians, our friendships should mimic that of Christ, where we love without reason. A relationship where we give godly counsel. A bond where we listen and provide comfort to those that need it most. A good friend should be one that directs and draws all those around back to the Lord. A godly friend speaks life into the hearts of others. As a Christ-filled friend, pour out love and wisdom into the life of your friends and associates. Do not be the friend that leads others away from Christ. Don’t be that guy or girl that enable others to make foolish decisions. Show love by speaking the truth and directing your friends on the right path.
