1 John 3:17-18

“But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.”

It is very easy to love someone just by word of mouth. It’s easy to throw around the Love word yet refrain from doing the very things that will prove the love we have in our hearts. Love is an action not just a mere word.

We are in a season where many people around us are in need. As people who have a relationship with the Lord and have His love in our hearts we ought to desire to render help wherever we can. Ask yourself this question. When was the last time you helped someone in need? Or the last time you gave your time and your attention to help someone reach a certain goal or come out of a certain struggle. It is easy to have much and yet shut your heart from others all because you feel you have to protect yourself. If you have give freely for the Lord loves a cheerful giver. Do not keep treasures hidden when those treasures can save lives. Do not love just with your mouth. Show forth your love through your actions as well. Open your hearts and share what you have with those around you. Be your brothers Keeper and give when ever you have the ability to do so.
