John 6:35“Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
What are you feeding your body? We always hear people say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and for this reason we always encourage everyone both young and old to partake in this meal. Now although breakfast is important and is something we all should take seriously, the acting of eating breakfast is just as important as the food itself we consume for breakfast. It makes no sense for anyone to drink alcohol and eat cake for breakfast, because that will only harm their body. Which goes to show that what you feed the body is very important.
In this same sense our spirits requires to be fed however it cannot be fed with poison. Our spirits need to be fed with the word of God through the Spirit of God. It is through the very thing that we are fed that we can be sustained. If we are feeding ourselves with the word of God, the Bread of life himself, we attain life. However when we feed ourselves with the poison of this word and of sin we attain spiritual death and in some cases physical death. There has to be a sense of vigilance that allows you to see beyond the physical that will enable you to see when you are being spiritually starved. Just as you feed the physical body daily the Spirit must also be fed daily. The spirit must receive life daily. Overall when you do not feed someone they eventually starve until they have died, and that is exactly what happens to the Spirit when we do not feed it with the word of God which is the very Bread of Life. The Lord God almighty is the bread of life and those who go to Him, those who are fed of Him shall never go hungry or go thirsty. Fed your spirit in God that you may have life.
