Pray And Praise

April 7

James 5:13

“Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.”

‭‭As humans sometimes we tend to react to every situation with our emotions. Whether that emotion is the right emotion or not doesn’t really matter because in moments where we feel we need to react we do so without thinking. For instance it’s is very easy to be happy and full of laughter when life is going well. When you are winning everything seems wonderful. It seems as though you’re on top of the world and everything feels good until you’re loosing. When things aren’t going our way, our nature begins shifts. We walk with our heads down so the whole world will know we’re struggling. We carry ourselves as though we hold the worries of the world in our very hands. The truth is that for us most of us our life’s are determined by our actions which are also determined my emotions.

It may seem logical that when a person is doing well they should show happiness and if they are not doing so well they should show fear and sadness. But be encouraged because as a child of God you have an answer for every wave of life. As the scripture says, if you’re in trouble, pray, if you are happy, sing songs of praise. No matter what wave life blows we should always remain in a place of prayer holding a heart that is full of praise. We do not have to allow our emotions to make decisions for us. We must allow the word of God the space it needs to win in our lives. Choose to be in control by praying and praising your way through this life. Yes, emotions are a part of us, however they do not have to control us. Remain in praise and in prayer and be reminded that the Lord hears you and He sees you in every phase of your life. Let prayer and praise have a place in your heart and in your life.
