Galatians 6:10
Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone – especially to those in the family of faith.
As Christians doing good to others is something that is required of us. We must do good unto the world because we are the lights that the world needs. We are the very salts of this land and our presence is what brings about change into the world. At every given moment the world is watching us, looking to see the decisions we will make and the actions we will take. They know that being the salt of the earth, and being the very light of the world that there has to be a significant difference between us. The world expects us to be different. Though they will never speak it they expect us to be the lights that shines and illuminates their darkness. The sad thing however is that rather than us being the change we have been created to be, we go around trying to imitate the world that wants to be like us.
Do not Let the actions of people be the determining factor of your reaction. Do good simply because you are a child of the most high and because you have been called to do so. Jesus knew our hearts and He knew that we would sin, however He did not allow that to stop him from dying on the cross. Therefore you also be of good heart. Do you not Withhold your kindness simply because you know that the people you are being kind to may or may not appreciate you. Do you good because God is good and because He is love and by virtue of being made in His image you are also love.
