1 Peter 5:8
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

Alertness always benefits us more than it does anyone else. Staying alert isn’t a bad thing; it rather enables you to make the right decisions and to take the right turns in life. Most of us walk through life nonchalant, thinking we can do whatever we want without any consequences. Life requires us to be focused and vigilant. The enemy’s most used strategy in getting us entangled is by distraction. He uses everything in our life that seems so innocent, such as our families, our jobs, our schooling, etc. to become a distraction to us, turning good somehow bad. The enemy uses the details of our daily lives to turn our hearts and our attention away from the Lord. In some cases, if we are not careful, we will be so bombarded that we forget to pray.

We must remain alert in all areas of our lives. We must not allow the little details derail us. Remember, the enemy is looking for every possible way to devour you. He will use every opening to set a trap that will bring you down. No one is exempt. No matter how strong or weak you may be the enemy targets, everyone. Stand strong and firm. Do not allow yourself to be taken out by the enemy. He is vigilant, but you must be far more alert than he, and you can only do this by keeping your eyes and your focus on the Lord.
