1 Timothy 6:18
Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others.

Most of us want to be rich. We want to have all the riches and the wealth in this world, but we are not willing to give our fortune to others and help them in times of need. When the Lord blesses us, He provides us with the grace and means to bless others. There are some of us whom the Lord cannot entrust with wealth and riches because we do not know how to be a blessing unto others. We feel we must keep our wealth hidden so that people do not tap into it. We are so selfish to the point where we conceal our blessings for fear of having to share it with others.
Our attitude, however, defeats the purpose, because we are blessed, we can bless. We have been called to bless others through our generosity, through different avenues such as time, resources, gifts, etc. Our inability to give is rooted in our selfishness because the Spirit enables us to share. We have been called to be rich in good works and generous in our deeds.  As Christians, we often say God will not give us more than we can handle. Well, this concept goes both ways. He will not give you more burdens than you can carry; likewise, He will not give you more blessings that you can handle.
If you are not willing to release and share the blessings that the Lord gives you with others, then you will not receive the benefits at all. The Lord needs people who can give generously and wholeheartedly. Having this in mind, before you ask for wealth and riches, ask for a heart that offers in abundance and love because if you cannot give you will not receive.
