Matthew 13:24-26
“Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.”
As believers we ought to be vigilant. We ought to be very attentive and awake in everything that we do. It is when we sleep the the enemy comes to destroy. It is when we begin to slumber spiritually that life’s circumstances begin to take a toll for the worst. The enemy that stands against us never sleeps, he never takes a break from being the enemy and as such we also should never take a break from being in God and doing Christianity the way it should be done.
One issue that plagues us as believers is complacency. Many times we become so complacent and so relaxed that we give the key of our lives to the enemy to do whatever he pleases. It is imperative that we remain alert and vigilant. We cannot give way to the enemy to plant weeds among our wheats right under our noses. We cannot be Spiritually asleep because it is useless to be physically alert when your spirit man sleeping. We are spirit and the things we face aren’t just in this body they are in the Spirit. We ought to be awake because when the weeds are planted you will not realize until it’s too late. Save yourself from the pain and heartache of a painful harvest by being vigilant at all times.
