Proverbs 25:12
“Like an earring of gold or an ornament of fine gold is the rebuke of a wise judge to a listening ear.”
For many people criticism is something to be hated. Some see criticism as an act of disrespect or belittling. Someone may think that if they are being criticized they are in other words being disrespected and being looked down upon. This reason alone causes many people to take the defensive side when it comes to criticism. Some people will defend their way out of criticism while others will simply fight their way through.
Valid and true genuine constructive criticism is a gift. If someone takes time out of their day to tell you about yourself in a way that can help you grow and improve that person has done you a favor. Take criticisms as a gift. One that keeps on giving. Do not view criticism with such negative connotation. If you listen to true criticism they can definitely change your life. We are all humans and as such we will not be right all the time. There are times that we will fall short. Times where others will have to speak sense and truth in order to put us back in our place. In those instances be wise and receptive. Do not throw away criticisms when you receive it, rather take it in and work with it. Know that it can and will change your life for the better if only you allow it to.
