2 Corinthians 3:17
“For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
Yes indeed, where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. When the Spirit is present freedom is present and it abounds. This is one thing that the Lord has given to every child of God. The Bible says clearly that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, which in other words means that the Holy Spirit is housed in us. He dwells in us because our bodies are His temple. It is because He is in us that we are able to grieve Him and push Him away with certain lifestyles and decisions we make.
Now since the scripture states that where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom, it means that wherever we find ourselves freedom abounds because the Holy Spirit dwells in us. This means we always have the freedom and the power to say no to sin. It means we do not have to give in to sin because we are not bound by it. Why? Because we have the freedom in us to shun it away. It means we are the only ones that can give ourselves over to sin because the freedom to say no is always in us. You must know that when sin comes near your tent and tempts you, you have the power to exercise that freedom in you. If the Holy Spirit is truly in you then freedom is with you so do not throw that priceless gift away for the scum of the earth.
