But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners.
Although as Christians we are called to bare good fruits and do good works to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ, it is not our works that earns us righteousness. Our Righteousness is from God because of His love and His grace. As scripture says “we are counted as righteous not because of their work, but because of their faith in God. Faith is a powerful and necessary ingredient that we must all possess.
As Christians we must realize that it is not our works that gives us salvation. It is not our works that puts us in the good graces of God. As stated in scripture if we give up all our possessions and give up our bodies to hardship and yet we do not have love we have nothing. Meaning it is not just about the things we do. The things we do alone cannot and will not take us to heaven. It is Gods grace that holds us and it is that same grace that enables us to live life in a worthy manner. We cannot warn our way into Gods heart or His heavenly kingdom. Be reminded of that so that even as you do good works you do not mistakenly think that those things are what holds you together.
