John 15:10
“If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.”
No parent despises a good child, neither do they seek to punish them, because they have absolutely no reason to punish. Every parent brags and speaks well of the child that does what they require, and in an appropriate manner. Not only that, they always keep them close by and always in their hearts. This is the same with our Heavenly Father. He does not despise the obedient child and the one who does exactly what He says. That child remains in Him and whatever that he or she desires they receive from the Father.
Abiding in the love of God is one of the most excellent places to be, but it is based on our decision. If we make a conscious decision to remain in God, the Holy Spirit enables us and strengthens us to do more than we can ever do on our own. We must make conscious decisions every waking moment to keep the commandments of God and to walk in His mercies and grace. By virtue of obeying His commands, we abide in His love, and there is nothing He cannot do for us in His love. Keep the commends He has given you, and you will enjoy the fruits of His love.
