Proverbs 27:17
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
Who are those in your friends’ circle? Who do you trust and who do you typically confide in? Who do you find yourself being influenced by? Some people come into our lives to sharpen us, while others come to make us dull. Some with the intention of bringing us down from the high grounds we find ourselves. We always hear people telling us to be careful of those we surround ourselves with. Be careful of the friends you share your life with and though we might not take heed to this advise it is very important that we do.
In the name of friendship, the enemy can bring someone in our lives who will bring nothing but distraction destruction, and dullness. Check yourself and those around you. Are you being sharpened by the individual presence in your life or are you being dulled loosing the very light you once had? It is very important that you surround yourself with people who are sharpening you and those who correct you and speak life into you and push you. Do not cling too close to those who can only bring about ruin if you are not careful. As you sift through your friends to see those who have a positive presence in your life look at yourself and see if you are sharpening those who sharpen you.
