1 Corinthians 13:7
Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”
How many of us have given up on our family members or even friends because they have refused to change their ways? There are times as Christians where we give up on people simply because we are tired of pushing. However what we have to understand is that as Christians we cannot give up on loving others. It is very imperative that we show the love of God to everyone, including those that we think in our human minds does not deserve it.
We must show a self-sacrificial, never-ending, and unconditional kind of love to everyone in and out of our circles. A love rooted in Christ, that never wavers, one that doesn’t stand base on the deeds of man or even on his perception. This is the kind of love we’ve been called to. We are called to love irritating families, ostracized neighbors, and hurtful enemies in this way. If God’s love for us was based on our deeds or even on our hearts then we would not be loved at all. So just as God loves us without measure let us also love others.
Let us realize that many people around us are hurting and yearning for the love of God in us. Open up your heart and pour out the love of the merciful God on everyone. From those who are hurting and dying silently to those who seem to have it all together. Remember also to intentionally pour out love on the ones who seem to be doing well in Christ because they too need that love. Do not give up on love and compassion, rather clothe yourself in it.
