There’s only one who has all the answers to the questions of life we may ever have. There’s also only one who can give us all that we want, need and desire. It is very true that if we have God we have everything. If we are in Christ there is nothing we will ever lack. He is indeed the bread of life and in Him, through Him and by Him we have access to every blessing. As we hunger for food on a daily basis so we must also hunger and thirst for God daily. He is the only one who has the power and the ability to sustain us in all of our ways.
Secondly, He is the only one who is able to determine the course and paths of our lives. As we eat for growth and nutrition and maturity in our bodies, we must also do so spiritually. We must look at our maturity level, our growth since our salvation and our current path to determine if we are indeed feeding on the bread of life or if we are feasting on the filth of the world. When we are feeding on the bread of life we do not need any other supplement, but if we are feasting on the filth of this world there isn’t any supplement enough to make us whole except for that of Christ.
We must have a personal measure of our place and growth in Christ that we may know when we have fallen short and given up on the bread of life. Be diligent and vigilant in all your ways and be sure that you are feeding your soul with life and not death.
John 6:35
“I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
