Psalm46:10

“He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

What does it truly mean to be still? Many of us are so used to the busy nature of life so much so that we do not know how to relax how much more being still? We’re so used to everything being fast paced. Many people are so used to being on the move at all times. For some people even when the Lord clears our plate in order for us to see Him and spend time with Him, they will always find something else to replace and occupy our time.

In one way or another your inability to be still when necessary shows where you are in your faith. It shows how much you trust God or how much of yourself you’re willing to give over to Him. You must know what instances in your life calls for stillness, and you must obey those calls for stillness that you may receive from the Lord. The Lord is God and He is able to intervene in everything that concerns you. Being a busybody takes you nowhere. It is far more fruitful for you to be still and allow God to be the Lord of your life than it is for you be that man or woman who does not know when to pause. No matter what it is that life has thrown at you, do all you can to learn to be still. Learn to look to Jesus the author and finisher of your faith. Learn to trust His word. Whenever you hear Him calling for stillness, just give in to Him and be still. Stillness has its reward, so be still and know that He is Lord, and indeed He will be exalted among the nations.
