1 Peter 2:9
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
In a world where evil seems to find itself in all areas of life, it is essential that we allow the light in us to overshadow everything in this life. We are a chosen people. People meant to be different. We are supposed to be the game changers — the ones who have the power to turn things around. Sadly most of us do not know our identity, and for that reason, we allow things we ought to have dominion over, rule over us instead. We are called to be different and that calling, we must pursue. We need to paint the world with the light of God. Light will always overcome darkness, and as the light, we need to put ourselves in positions to bring change.
We are the influencers not the ones to be influenced. The world around us is dying and we have the very life they need to survive. Christ is the answer and we must present Him to the world. Christians nowadays are so concerned with fitting in that we have thrown the word of God and the power we have away. Imagine having the cure for an ailment, and instead of giving that cure to those in need of it, you throw the treatment away and take their illness unto yourself. That’s what we’ve become. We discard the life and power we have in Christ just to fit in with the world and die with it. You were not created to be like the world; you have to be different. Stand up for what is right and for the truth of the word. Royalty does not throw their crown away only to become peasants. Wear your crown high and shun evil. Do what is right and represent Christ in the best ways possible.
