Proverbs 16:6
“Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord evil is avoided.”
The fear of the Lord brings life and light unto us. When we fear the Lord, we live our life on a different spectrum than that of the world. The fear of the Lord in our hearts orders our steps. It keeps us from falling. Many things in this world are enticing. Many are appealing to our eyes, while others draw on our hearts, and captures our attention. These things that bring us in, they can, however, be hazardous. They can blind us, and without the fear of the Lord in us, we are susceptible to falling prey to all things. However, when the fear of the Lord is in our hearts we do not give in easily to sin, neither do we allow the falsehood of life deter us.
There are many ways to live your life that will lead to your death, but there’s only one way to live that will lead you to eternal life, and that is a righteous life. A righteous life is one that considers its ways and existence in the standard of His will. It is a life lived through the lens of Christ. If you fear God, you can live as the Bible requires. The fear of the Lord leads to long life. If you want to succeed in life, you must allow the fear of the Lord to take root in your heart. Fear God and let His wisdom become the light that leads your life. Fear Him and you will prosper in this life because the fear of God keeps you from living like the world, and making decisions that will end your life.
