1 Peter 3:17
“For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.”
We all have our own idea of what is good and what is bad. Although most of us have a pretty good understanding of these two things, the reality is that there is only one true definition of good and evil and that definition is that which has been given to us by our Heavenly Father. Just by our human nature we all have an idea of what is acceptable and what isn’t. Not only that but we also have a conscience that helps us in differentiating between good and evil. In addition to these instinctual things God has also given us His word, which makes very clear the things that are of Him and those which aren’t.
In knowing all of these facts there’s another fact which is the point that most people will not suffer for anyone or anything. Many individuals when they find themselves in the place of helping others will only do it when it is convenient to them. They will not do more than necessary. In other words if they are trying to do good to someone and the person isn’t responding positively to that good thing they are doing they’re prone to give up, simply because they feel they don’t owe anyone. However it is a blessing to suffer for doing good. Whenever there’s something within the will of God do your best to be of help. There’s blessing in suffering for good. Meaning if you’re suffering for a good cause, ask God for grace and continue do the good you can for those around you and allow God to bless you.
