Psalm 46:10
“He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
The greatest peace and comfort is in knowing that Jesus is Lord. If you know that the I AM is God, then you know of the power that He holds. The knowledge of God’s authority, and that He alone is indeed God is a very calming and assuring truth. He being God means that He is Lord over all things. He is Lord in every storm, valley, mountain, cave, deep water, sorrow, joy, confusion, peace, etc. It means that He is God irrespective of the season or the situation. He is also King regardless of opposition. When the creator of all creation, the heavens, earth, sea, plants, fishes, and all else is on your side, you are secure and in steady hands. When this God tells you to “be still” you have every right to be still without worry and fear.
Be still and know that the Lord God of Israel, the God of Abraham Issac and Jacob is still Lord and He is still God. If He is on your side, nothing can stand against you. Be still amid your storm. Be still in the face of all your troubles and remind your heart that the King of kings is on the thrown fighting on your behalf. Look around and look specifically at the face of all your problems and tell them the greatness of your God and your Lord. He has you in the palm of His hands so take heart and be assured that He is Lord.
