1 Corinthians 9:24-27
“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.”
We each have a race that we are running. No one can run our race for us. We are the only people with the ability to run the race that has been set before us. Now think about a race, any and everyone who runs train themselves. They do away with certain habits and make sure they are in a place where they can you run to the fullest of their ability. Those that race also train themselves mentally and change the way they think when necessary.
So for you, as you get ready to embark on this race that has been set before you be sure that you are training yourself. Be sure that you are learning the art of persistence, perseverance, diligence and intentionality. Be sure also that you are training your mind to take forth any readjustments that is needed to be successful. You are in a race and you are going to run. However the outcome of this race is dependent solely on you because alone can decide.
It’s not about how you fast you run or how quick you arrive. What matters is the ability to keep going and remain in the race even against all odds. Decide for yourself how you are going to run this race and what you are going to do to finish it. Whatever you decide , just be sure to remain in your Word. Do everything possible to not give up. Be sure to take the paths that has been laid before you by the Lord. If you run your race in the bosom of the Lord you will not grow weary, neither will you loose your breath.
You have a decision to make. Who to choose as your partner and leader, so choose wisely. Choose God and as you choose Him do not go ahead of Him, but rather allow Him to lead you in all things. Be self controlled and disciplined in all your ways and let Him lead you in this race.
