But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.
It is very easy to get into the routine of reading for the sake of reading, but as believers it not enough to read for reading sake. Reading God’s word or listening to it is suppose to change you. Therefore if in your reading and meditating of the word there hasn’t been any change in your inner man, you have to reassess yourself. The word of God should shape you and change you for the best, if you are truly reading it.
Being a believer comes with a call that requires one to act. As a believers there must be action that follows the things we preach and the things we learn. As a believer you must do what the Bible says you should do. Your life ought to emulate the word of the Lord. As you journey on this Christian walk always make sure to checkup on yourself. As you continue to grow don’t be like those who listen to the word of God only you do the complete opposite of what it says. Do not fool yourself. Be intentional in doing what you do with what all that you have been given. Continue to read your word because it is necessary for your Spiritual growth, but as you read ensure that you are imitating Christ in all you do.
