Romans 6:1-2 NLT “Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not!”
Only the one who lacks understanding and discipline will take advantage of their own salvation. The one who is foolish and ignorant is the one who will keep sinning intentionally without remorse. “When God lovingly forgives us of our sins it is not an opportunity or free pass to continue in our filthy sins. Justifying sin with the knowledge that God will always forgive points out a lack of understanding of the impact of sin and its consequences and troubles.
God has given us the power and the grace to say no to sin regardless of the form it comes in. He has given us the power stand against sin. His grace is indeed sufficient for us but it is very dangerous to take that Grace for granted. We must each ask God to help us understand His grace and the power He has given us to overcome sin. We must grow up and start taking responsibilities for our actions. The power to overcome has been given to us, so it’d be ridiculous to live in sin simply because God is gracious.
Remember that even though His grace abounds, the fact still remains that He is a Just God. Therefore, put the power you have been given to work and do everything to overcome the sin that so easily entangles you. The Lord is our strength and through Him, we can do all things, including leaving sin behind. You have power over sin, sin has no power over you, remember that and walk in that truth.
