John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
There is “peace,” and there is peace. The very peace that comes from this world is nothing compared to the gift that comes from the heavenly. God’s peace does and will always be divine. His peace does not come with ultimatums; instead, they come with love. In God, you can have peace and all the goodness that comes from above. This, however, isn’t so with the world. Far too often in the world, people will have everything, social status, money, degrees, etc. yet have not even an ounce of peace. They have all the riches and beautiful things in this world, but they have no peace to enjoy the wealth they have acquired.
If you are seeking for peace in this world you will not find it. What the world can offer you is a temporary fad that disappears when needed at the most critical of times. If you are dependent on the worlds offer of peace, then your heart will always be troubled, and you will end up fighting even for life. In reality, the world cannot offer you anything of substance, which is why the peace it offers isn’t true. Gods peace is tried and tested, and it will stand firm at the face of all circumstances. If you truly seek peace, seek it from above in the heavenly places, for that is the only peace proven to be true.
