Colossians 3:13
“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”
Forgiveness is important and as you always hear forgiveness is more for you than it is for the other person. It brings healing to your heart and mends certain part of you that you did not even know needed mending.
Forgiveness is important and more than anything it is something that as believers we have been asked to do. We must forgive as the Lord forgives us because unforgiveness puts you in a bind that can lead you to your grave. Unforgiveness messes with your heart and mind and if you’re not careful it it will drain the light and life out of you. When you have unforgiveness in your heart you become vulnerable and susceptible to commit sin because it makes you do things you may not have done other wise.
If you have grievance with anyone one, let it go. Yes it is easier said than done, however it can be done with the strength of God. No matter what have been done or how much you have been hurt, give it over to the Lord and ask for grace to forgive. The truth of the matter is forgive is impossible to do in ones own strength. The reason why you are unable to forgive is probably because you are trying to do it in your own flesh. You need the grace and the Spirit of God to aid you in forgiving. Therefore if you are struggling turn to the Lord and He will grant you the strength you need.
