2 Corinthians 11:4
“For [you seem willing to allow it] if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted. You tolerate all this beautifully [welcoming the deception].”
Just as we have that which is real, we also have that which is counterfeit. As believers we have been given the one true God. We have been given the Holy Spirit of God and we have been made joint heirs with the Son of the Holy One. We as children of God have what is real and what is good but there are false prophets and spirits that seek to corrupt us and draw us away from the precious gifts we have.
As believers it is imperative that we remain vigilant and wise. We must be very well versed and familiar with our truth so that we are able to pick up the scent of counterfeit when it comes our way. We must in no way tolerate false truth from anyone. We have been given the word, not only that but we have it at our fingertips now more that we ever have. We must take whatever we receive back to the spoken word of God and dissect every bit of it. We do not have the luxury of just taking everything we hear and running with it. We must investigate what we hear. Do not be quick to receive and tolerate deception. Open wide your eyes and question that which ought to be questioned. If anyone presents you with something that the word of God has not spoken or endorsed, discard it and go back to the root, which is the Bible for the unadulterated truth of the Living God.
